How a mission works
A mission is the steadiest way to earn Cash and XP. Each mission card shows what it pays and what it needs before you start:
- Reward: the XP it pays and the range of Cash it can pay.
- Requires: the Energy one run costs, and your chance of success as a percentage.
Tap ENGAGE to run it. A success pays the XP and Cash. A failure pays nothing and can cost you some HP, and the Energy is spent either way, so the success chance is worth a look before you go. The very first mission, Report for Duty, always succeeds.
The numbers on a card already include anything that raises your rewards, such as a Clan Doctrine bonus, so what you see is what you get.
Campaigns
Missions come in Campaigns, each named after a real conflict, from Basic Training through the First World War to the War in Ukraine. A Campaign opens when you reach its level and have beaten the previous Campaign's Boss once. Locked Campaigns still show as tabs, with the reason they are locked.
| Campaign | Opens at level | Missions | Energy per run |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic Training | 1 | 4 | 1 to 2 |
| World War I | 3 | 4 | 1 to 3 |
| World War II | 8 | 4 | 1 to 4 |
| Korean War | 10 | 4 | 1 to 4 |
| Suez Crisis | 14 | 8 | 1 to 5 |
| Six-Day War | 17 | 8 | 1 to 5 |
| Rhodesian Bush War | 22 | 8 | 1 to 6 |
| Iran-Iraq War | 26 | 8 | 1 to 6 |
| Lebanese Civil War | 30 | 8 | 1 to 7 |
| Chechen Wars | 34 | 8 | 1 to 7 |
| Libyan Civil War | 38 | 8 | 1 to 8 |
| Syrian Civil War | 42 | 8 | 1 to 8 |
| Nagorno-Karabakh War | 46 | 8 | 2 to 9 |
| War in Ukraine | 50 | 8 | 2 to 10 |
Later Campaigns cost more Energy per run and pay far more, so move on as soon as the next one opens: an early mission pays the least XP for the Energy it costs.
Stars
Every mission except a Boss earns Stars, up to five, from successful runs: the second Star at 5 wins, then 15, 30 and 50. The card shows your Stars and how many wins the next one needs.
- Each new Star pays a one-off Gold Bar bonus equal to the Star: 2 GB for the second, then 3, 4 and 5 GB, so 14 GB for taking one mission to five Stars.
- A higher Star also raises what the mission pays, and makes it harder. The card's numbers move to match.
Mission Bosses
Every Campaign ends in a Mission Boss: its most expensive mission, and the key to the next Campaign.
- Some Bosses need gear or Allies. A Boss may ask you to own a number of a weapon or vehicle, and the later ones a number of Allies. The gear only has to be owned, not equipped, and it is never used up.
- The first win unlocks Armory gear early: the card names it, and you can buy it before you reach its usual level.
- A beaten Boss is marked COMPLETED. You can run it again, but it has no Stars.
Invasion Bosses
Invasion Bosses are shared by the whole server: one of each is up at a time, and every player in range hits the same one. Find them on the Bounty screen (the BOUNTY tile on Home), under Invasion Alert, which lists the bosses inside your level range.
- Attacking: each hit costs 1 Ammo and needs at least a quarter of your HP. There is no wait between hits.
- The boss hits back and costs you HP, but never takes you below 1 HP.
- Every hit pays XP and a share of the Cash the boss holds. That pool is shared and runs down as players loot it: the boss's page shows what is left as its Reward.
- Gold Bars: the player who lands the killing blow gets 2 GB, and the player who dealt the most damage gets 2 GB, even if they are offline when it falls.
- A boss stays up until it is beaten. Once it falls, the next one arrives about 5 minutes later; the list shows the countdown.
Seven of the lower bosses also have a copy marked RECRUITS, with the same stats, for newer players: anyone who owns a lot of Illegal Goods gear for the boss's level cannot attack the copy, so the stronger players cannot crowd recruits out. The boss's page shows its HP, its level, the damage you and the leader have dealt, and a log of the latest attacks. Past Invasions lists the last 24 hours of kills.

Demo bosses
During the tutorial you get two demo bosses of your own, so you can learn how a boss fight works with nobody else involved. They arrive already wounded, they use the real boss screen, and every hit pays Cash and XP, with 2 GB for beating each one. Once beaten they are gone for good.
Clan Bosses
Clan Bosses are a different kind of fight: a weekly line-up of bosses that only clan members can hit, after their clan marches to one. They are the only source of the Workshop's crafted gear. You need to be in a clan to take part.
Bounties and the Manhunt
A bounty puts Cash on another player's head, paid to whoever lands the killing blow. How to place and claim one is in the Combat guide.
The Manhunt is the tournament built around bounties. Like every tournament it runs over a weekend, from Friday 12:00 UTC to Monday 12:00 UTC, and it comes round in the tournament rotation. It scores:
- 5 points for placing a bounty;
- 5 points for claiming one;
- 1 point for winning a fight against a player with a bounty on them, without claiming it;
- 1 point for winning a defence while there is a bounty on you.
