What tournaments are
A tournament is a weekend event where players race for points by doing one kind of play: fighting other players, hunting bounties, hitting Invasion Bosses or running missions. Each format scores something different, so a different set of players gets its turn at the top.
- When: every second weekend, from Friday 12:00 UTC to Monday 12:00 UTC.
- Who: everyone, at any level. There is no sign-up: your first point enters you. The one exception is Civil War, below. A Guest has to save the account to compete.
- Where: the TOURNEY tile on the Home screen. While a tournament is live, a strip on Home also shows your rank and points.
The tournament screen
During a tournament the screen shows your points and rank, a countdown to the end, the format's rules, the current leaders (the top 10, with your own row pinned below), what the Participation Tiers pay and the Winning Payout. A breakdown under your rank shows where your points came from. Between tournaments the same screen shows the next one: what it scores, what it pays, and a countdown to the start.
The history button lists past tournaments: the winner, how you finished and how many players took part. Tap one for its final top 10.
The five formats
Five formats take turns. Only the actions a format lists score; everything else scores nothing in that tournament, and no score depends on your level. The rules card on the screen lists the same points.
Civil War
The players are split into four Factions: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta. Open the tournament screen once Civil War begins and you are drafted onto one at random. A player who never opens the screen is never drafted, never scores, and gets nothing even if their would-be faction wins.
- 1 point for winning a battle against a player on another faction, attacking or defending.
- 3 points for killing a player on another faction, in place of the win point.
- Minus 1 point for attacking a player on your own faction.
Factions rank by the total of their members' points, and the screen shows each faction's players and points. Every member of a placing faction collects the faction's prize, whatever their own score:

King of the Hill
The Hill is the top three players on the standings, shown on a podium in place of the leader list. Anyone can attack a Hill Player, whatever their level, and attack windows are switched off for the whole event. Only winning attacks score.
- 10 points for beating a Hill Player, or 5 if they are a lower level than you.
- 2 points for beating a player in your range while you are on the Hill.
- 1 point for beating any other player.
- 15 points for every hour you hold the Hill with at least 25% of your HP.

Winning prizes
The Winning Payout goes to the top finishers, as listed under each format above. First place also wins that tournament's Limited Edition gear, prize gear that is never sold (see Gear).
- Prizes are collected by hand. When the results are in, a Prize waiting card with a Collect button appears at the top of the tournament screen, and the TOURNEY tile shows PRIZE.
- You have 14 days from the end to collect. The game reminds you, by push and in your Log, 3 days before the prize expires. After that it is gone.
Notifications
Tournaments can push you when one starts, when you reach a tier, when the results are in, and when a prize you have not collected is about to expire.
