Update 2.0.0

Passive Tactics Arrive

Four always-on upgrades that never take a loadout slot, cleaner tournament payouts, and leaderboards that finally show every commander on the server. This one is a required update.

Version 2.0.0 is live, and it is our biggest numbered release yet. The headline is Passive Tactics: a new progression track that runs quietly in the background of every fight you take. Alongside it, tournament rewards got tidied up, the leaderboards stopped hiding most of the server, and Civil War faction colours now follow you across the app.

This is a required update. You will need to be on v2.0.0 to get back into the game. The server is briefly closed while we finish rolling 2.0.0 out, so if you cannot connect right now, that is why. Download the update in the meantime and you will be ready the moment it reopens.

Passive Tactics

Your eight combat Tactics have always asked you to choose. Passive Tactics do not. There is no loadout slot, no enable and disable, and nothing to remember before a battle. You buy the points, you spend them, and the bonus is simply always there.

Each one takes 200 points, and each point costs 10 Gold. Taken all the way, that turns a 100 HP commander into a 300 HP one, a 10 round ammo bar into 60, a 10 point energy bar into 110, and every XP payout in the game into 1.25x. Maxing all four is a long haul at 8,000 Gold, and it is meant to be: this is a track you chip away at over a season, not a weekend.

You will find them on the new PASSIVE tab under Profile then Tactics. The points themselves are bought from the SERVICES tab in the Black Market, the same buy here and spend there split the combat Tactics already use.

One thing worth knowing before you pour Gold into Energize: regen rates have not changed. A bigger bar is a bigger bar, and it takes proportionally longer to fill.

Tournaments and leaderboards

Cash tiers are round numbers now. The tournament reward ladder was sitting on some awkward values after the last rebalance. The six cash tiers are now 250M, 1B, 3B, 6B, 15B and 25B. A full clear pays roughly $50.25B, up from $48.25B, and because tiers are read live this applies to the Civil War tournament running right now. Gold tiers, placements and every point target are untouched.

Leaderboards show everyone. Every board used to stop dead at rank 100, which meant most of the server simply was not on it. That cap is gone. The pager now runs for as many pages as there are players, and because PREV and NEXT alone are a miserable way to cross a long board, the page counter is now tappable: hit it and jump straight to whichever page you want.

Faction tags travel. During a Civil War, drafted players were tagged with their faction on the Battle screen only. That tag now shows on the tournament standings and on every RANKS board too, so you can read the state of the war wherever you happen to be looking.

One smaller fix that matters

Usernames are now case-insensitive. Two accounts can no longer differ only by capitalisation, which closes an impersonation gap that was genuinely difficult to spot in chat or on a leaderboard.

Help us grow the server

Global Conflict is a solo project, and the advertising that brings new commanders in is paid for out of pocket. If you have got value out of the game and want more people on the map to fight, you can chip in here:

Support the game on Ko-fi

Every cent goes straight into advertising. A bigger server is a better game for everyone in it, and there is no pressure at all: playing and telling a friend helps just as much.
