1. Who We Are and What This Covers
Global Conflict ("the Game", "we", "us") is an independently developed strategy game available as an Android application and as a browser application at globalconflict.co.za/play. These Terms of Use cover the Game, this website, and every related service we operate, including our Discord server.
By creating an account or playing, you agree to these Terms, to our Privacy Policy, and to our Code of Conduct. If you do not agree, do not use the Game.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only play with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf. We may close any account we reasonably believe belongs to someone under 13.
3. Your Account
- You are responsible for everything that happens on your account, including anything done by someone you gave access to.
- Keep your password private. We will never ask you for it. Nobody who does is us.
- One person, one account, unless staff explicitly permit otherwise.
- Do not sell, buy, rent, gift or transfer accounts.
- Usernames must not impersonate another player, a staff member, or a brand, and must not be offensive. We may rename an account that breaks this rule.
- Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
4. Rules of Play
The full behaviour rules live in the Code of Conduct and the Community Guidelines, and both form part of these Terms. In short, you must not:
- Use bots, scripts, macros, modified clients, or any automation.
- Exploit bugs instead of reporting them.
- Attack, overload, reverse engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our servers, other players' accounts, or any part of the Game.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other players or staff.
- Trade in-game items, currency, or accounts for real money outside the Game.
5. Virtual Items and Currency
Cash, Gold, gear, bases, levels and every other in-game item are licensed to you, not sold. They have no monetary value, cannot be redeemed for real money, and remain our property. You have no ownership interest in them.
We may add, change, rebalance, reprice, or remove any in-game item, currency, reward or mechanic at any time. Competitive games require balance changes, and a change that reduces the value of something you hold is not a refundable event.
Paid purchases are not currently available. Gold packs are displayed in the Black Market but no payment processing is live. If and when purchases open, we will publish purchase and refund terms before taking any payment, and any statutory refund rights you have in your country will apply.
6. Player Content
You keep ownership of what you write in chat, on profile walls, and in your profile. By posting it you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and moderate it for the purpose of operating the Game.
You are responsible for what you post. Do not post anything unlawful, hateful, sexual, threatening, or that infringes someone else's rights, and do not post another person's private information.
We may remove any content and may retain a copy of reported content for moderation and audit purposes even after it is deleted from public view.
7. Moderation, Suspension and Termination
We may mute, suspend, rename, reset or permanently ban an account that breaks these Terms, the Code of Conduct, or the law. Serious cases, including cheating, exploiting and real-money trading, may be actioned immediately and without warning.
You can stop playing and request deletion of your account at any time. See the Privacy Policy for how to do that and what happens to your data.
Termination for any reason does not entitle you to compensation for in-game items, currency or progress.
8. The Game Is Provided As It Is
Global Conflict is a live service run by a small independent team. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or permanently available. Servers go down, updates introduce bugs, and features change.
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Game is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for lost progress, lost items, lost data, or indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue the Game or any part of it. If we shut the Game down permanently, we will give reasonable notice on this site and in our Discord where we are able to.
9. Our Intellectual Property
The Global Conflict name, logo, artwork, game design, text and software are ours or our licensors'. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from them except as the law expressly permits. Fan content, streams, videos and screenshots are welcome and encouraged, provided they are non-commercial and do not suggest we endorse them.
10. Third-Party Services
The Game uses third-party services to function, including Google Sign-In, Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications, and Discord for community. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, not ours.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. When we make a material change we will update the date below and announce it on this site and in our Discord. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your own country of residence.
