Update 1.7.0: A Fresh Start

The server has been reset, the economy is clean, and the leaderboards have more than doubled.

Version 1.7.0 is live, and it starts with the biggest thing we have ever done to this game: a full server reset. Every account is back to Level 1, and everyone is starting again on the same line.

We want to be completely straight about what that means before anything else.

The reset, in plain terms

This was deliberate. Nothing went wrong, and nothing was lost by accident.

Every account has been returned to a fresh Level 1 state. Gear, bases, cash, bounties, tasks, awards and tournament scores have all been cleared. Global chat history, the boss population and every tournament standing were wiped alongside them.

Your account itself was not deleted. Your username, your password and your email are exactly as they were. Sign in the way you always have and you will find a new commander waiting, ready to build.

We did this because 1.7.0 changes enough about how progress is measured that carrying the old economy forward would have left the new rankings meaningless from day one. A clean start is fairer than a distorted one, and it means the first player to reach the top of a board genuinely earned it.

RANKS: six leaderboards became fourteen

Hall of Fame is now RANKS. It has been restyled to sit properly alongside the rest of the game, and the board list has more than doubled.

Alongside Most Elite Squads, Top Fighters, Most Deadly, Richest, Top Bounty Hunters and Most Boss Wins, you can now compete on Top Operatives, Most Missions Completed, Top Producers, Largest Ally Force, Survival Experts, Top Shot Callers, Highest Bounty Values and Top Infiltrators.

Boards that measure a lifetime total still have a per-split view, so you can see who is climbing right now rather than only who has been here longest. Boards that measure where you stand today — your level, your fortune, your ally force, your income — are all-time only, because a "gained this split" number means nothing for them.

Quality of life

Three walls worth losing to

Aegis, Rampart and Colossus are new high-level defence commanders, and they carry permanent bounties. That bounty is the point: it means any Commander can attack them at any level, no matter the gap.

They are built to be lost to. If you need to shed experience, they will oblige. Bank your cash before you try it.

Tournament #1

The first tournament opens Wednesday 12 August at 12:00 UTC. Everyone goes in on equal footing this time, which should make it the most competitive event we have run.

Update and jump in

Version 1.7.0 is a required update, and older builds cannot connect to the server.
