Update 1.6.0: Tournaments Arrive

Operation Iron Tide opens Wednesday. Plus the Hall of Fame, Awards, push notifications and a rebuilt Armory.

Commanders, the biggest update since launch is live. Version 1.6.0 adds a full tournament system, global leaderboards, an awards ladder, push notifications and a restructured Armory — and the first tournament opens this Wednesday.

This is a required update. Older clients are blocked from connecting, so download the new build before you next play.

Tournament #1: Operation Iron Tide

The opening tournament runs Wednesday 12 August, 12:00 UTC through Sunday 16 August, 12:00 UTC, and it is an invasion war. Every boss you touch scores:

Every account is being reset on the morning of Wednesday 12 August. The entire player base starts this tournament at the same level, on the same bosses. Nobody carries an advantage in.

Rewards Pay Themselves

There is no claim button anywhere in this system. Point tiers grant the instant your total crosses them, and placement prizes pay out the moment the tournament settles.

The point ladder is identical for every player, at every level — a Level 5 commander and a Level 450 veteran chase the same numbers for the same rewards. It runs from $1 billion at 100 points up to $100 billion at 4,000 points, with Gold Bars threaded between the cash tiers. Clear the whole ladder and you take $193 billion and 35 Gold Bars.

The top ten take placement prizes on top of whatever tiers they earned:

The Vanguard XR-1 is the first item in an entirely new class of gear. Limited Edition weapons and vehicles cannot be bought, cannot be sold, and carry no upkeep — the only way to hold one is to win it. It counts toward your Attack and Defence like any other gear, and it lives in the new EVENT tab in your Armory.

After this one, tournaments run on their own schedule: every second weekend, Friday 12:00 UTC to Monday 12:00 UTC, indefinitely.

Hall of Fame and Awards

The Hall of Fame ranks commanders across six metrics — level, PvP wins, PvP kills, boss kills, bounties claimed, and wealth. Two independent views let you cut it how you like: This Split for the current competitive window or All Time for lifetime totals, and Global or My Country for scope. Your own rank stays pinned at the bottom of the board even when you are outside the visible top.

Awards adds fifteen achievements tracked against stats you are already earning, each paying a one-time Gold reward when you claim it. You will find both from your Profile screen.

Push Notifications

The game can now tell you when something happens while you are away — when you are attacked, when your energy or ammo refills, when daily tasks reset, or when a tournament reward lands.

Everything is opt-in and grouped into categories you control separately, with quiet hours so nothing wakes you at 3am. It all lives in the new Settings screen, reachable from your Profile. If you are already in the game when something happens, you will not get a duplicate alert for it.

The Armory, Rebuilt

The Armory now sorts by what a piece of gear is rather than where it came from. Weapons and Vehicles are the two top-level tabs, and each carries its own Standard, Illegal and Crafted sections. Your Limited Edition prizes get their own EVENT tab alongside them.

Tactics: Trap and Storm Cut Both Ways

Trap and Storm now apply to player-versus-player combat, and they are no longer a free upgrade. Both are swing tactics: Trap takes more cash when you win and gives up more when you lose. Storm earns more XP on a victory and costs more on a defeat.

Stack them if you like a gamble — just know the downside scales with the upside.

Getting the Update

Both builds are live. Because this is a forced update, older clients are blocked until they update — so grab the new build before jumping back in.

Download the update, spend your points, and be ready when Operation Iron Tide opens at 12:00 UTC on Wednesday 12 August. The first Vanguard XR-1 is going to exactly one commander.
